Upon his arrival in Belgrade, Klaus will confer with Serbian President Boris Tadić, who will attend that ceremony at SANU.

Klaus will hold a speech at the ceremony, and also present his book "Europe and the EU - A View of a Politician and Economist" during his stay in Belgrade.

This is Klaus's third book published in Serbia, in which he critically discusses the aspects of EU integration, showing that one can be both a supporter of the EU and a critic of its centralization and bureaucratization at the same time.

Klaus previously visited Belgrade in 2008, Novi Sad (northern Serbia) in 2009, and conferred with Tadić at the United Nations in 2010.

He has criticized NATO attacks against Serbia in 1999, and voiced disapproval of the Kosovo Albanian unilateral declaration of independence made three years ago.
