“Marty’s claims should be investigated”

BELGRADE -- Albanian Acting Ombudsman Florina Nuni agrees that it is necessary to fully and objectively investigate the claims from CoE Rapporteur Dick Marty’s report. She says she accepts universal and indivisible nature of human rights and their importance for human dignity and peace in the region. Nuni added that the Albanian authorities had pointed out the need for full investigation and contacted international institutions that could achieve the goal which was “of great importance for awareness and conscience of our peoples and nations”. “I believe that our professionalism and neutrality are the best things we can offer in striving for peace, understanding and democratic development in the region, and for the European future free from shadows and myths of the past,” she stressed.
